General solvent guidelines

Always observe Waters' general recommendations related to solvents.

  • To inhibit microbial growth, use high-quality, brown-tinted glassware.
  • Filter solvents through a 0.2-µm filter, or use pre-filtered solvents. Small particles can permanently block a system’s capillary lines. Filtering solvents also improves check valve performance.
